Can I talk to someone?

Yes! We can meet at a place convenient for you or you can come to our office. Call 0392174844 to speak with a pregnancy counselor and schedule a free appointment. Trained counselors are on call 24 hours a day to serve you. You can also contact us info@otherparents.org or text (0703141971. If you have an after-hours emergency, please contact us by phone or text.

About the Program

For the elderly, there are no nursing homes or places to go to be cared for in their twilight years. If someone does not have grown children to care for them, they often are left alone. When they become too old to work, they have no means to feed themselves or buy blankets or clothing to keep warm.

Through Other Parents provides fellowship, food, prayer, and medical care to these vulnerable people. In Uganda, we offer sponsorships for employed caregivers, and in other locations, our caregivers are volunteers.

How will your sponsorship help?

We empowers our partners and our caregivers to provide fellowship, food, prayer, and medical care for widows, the elderly, and the sick in their communities. Your financial commitment enables this care to continue in Uganda ang Congo. Through you, those without hope find someone to care for them in Jesus’ name.

Do I have to sign a contract to work with Hope’s Promise? Do I need a lawyer?

No. We do not believe it is ethical for any agency to request a contract. We are here to serve you and help you make the best decision for you and your child.

You do not need a lawyer because Colorado is an “agency state” which means adoption must occur through an adoption agency like Hope’s Promise. We will complete all legal steps necessary for your adoption. However, in the event of unusual or complicated legal issues, Hope’s Promise may also use the services of an attorney.

What services do you provide after my child is placed for adoption?

We believe adoption doesn’t end at the hospital. We provide lifetime counseling, referrals, and overall support to you and your family. We also offer a virtual monthly support group for birth mothers as well as several in person events throughout the year.

Can my baby be adopted if I’ve used drugs and/or alcohol?

Even if you have used drugs and alcohol, Hope’s Promise can help you make an adoption plan for your unborn child. We have many waiting families who are ready to parent a child who may have been affected by drugs and/or alcohol.

What if I am considering abortion?

Before you choose abortion, please get accurate information on the medical procedures and long term physical and emotional effects. We would love to help you consider the options of parenting or adoption instead of abortion. Call us at 0703141971 for a free counseling appointment.

Can you help me with financial assistance?

Yes. In Makindye Kampala, we can help with pregnancy related expenses.

Do I have to make a decision before I contact you?

You do not have to decide about adoption before contacting Hope’s Promise. Our compassionate staff will come to you and will give you accurate information on all your options so you can make the best decision for you and your child. We are here to help you sort out your feelings and make a plan that is right for you. Our counseling services are free of charge and we can also help you with pregnancy related expenses, counseling, and support throughout your pregnancy.

What if I decide to parent?

We understand adoption is not the right choice for everyone. If you choose to parent, we will guide you to community resources for help. By contacting Hope’s Promise, you are under no obligation to pursue adoption.

What is adoption?

Adoption is the legal transfer of parental rights and responsibilities from the birth parents to another individual or couple who is willing to assume them. It is a permanent decision.

There are many types of adoption:

Open adoption allows full identifying information to be shared between the birth family and adoptive family (last names, addresses, and phone numbers). Open adoption varies based on the degree of openness the birth and adoptive parents want but typically involves some level of contact. Most of our domestic adoptions are open.

Semi-open adoption means identifying information is not shared. Ongoing contact between the birth and adoptive families happens through a third party, such as an adoption agency.

Closed adoption means that no identifying information is shared between the birth and adoptive families, and they do not plan to meet or have any further contact.

Can I see and hold my baby after they are born?

Absolutely! Whether you see and hold your baby in the hospital is completely up to you. We will work with the hospital staff to ensure that your wishes are met.

When should I see a doctor?

If you are experiencing early signs of pregnancy, we recommend you schedule an appointment with our doctor Sharon Birungi you can contact her 0788028949 . At this appointment, they will determine your due date, provide resources for pregnancy, labor and delivery, and share important information regarding the effects of drug and alcohol usage during pregnancy. You will also be counseled about proper nutrition and prenatal care.

I don’t have medical insurance; can you help me?

Yes. If you do not have medical insurance we can help you submit a Medicaid application. If you are not eligible for Medicaid, and if you make an adoption plan, your medical expenses can be paid by the adoptive parents.
